DHAKA: Expatriates’ Welfare & Overseas Employment Minister Engineer Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain on Thursday categorically said Bangladeshi nationals working in Iraq would be returned if the situation deteriorated.
The minister made the assertion in response to a query from journalists after a meeting with new executive members of Bangladesh Association of International Recruiting Agencies (BAIRA).
Advising the Bangladeshis in Iraq to be alert, he said the situation could be out of control at any time. So, they should be very careful.
He added: “There are almost 20-15 thousand Bangladeshi people in Iraq. We and our officials on here always take care of them.”
The ruling Awami League lawmaker said, “If anyone fell in trouble or want to return Bangladeshi just inform our officials. They will help you to return. But, if the condition of that country would deteriorate the government will take their responsibility to return.”
Indicating to BAIRA Mosharraf said they would not tolerate any irregularities and deceit in exporting manpower.
