DHAKA: A 15-year old domestic help, victim of torture, succumbed to her injuries in city’s Rupnagar area on Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Diti Moni, 15, daughter of M Jahangir Hossain and hailed from Patuakhali district.

She had been working for last few months at the residence of Fardeen Islam in Rupnagar area.

Police sources said that Fardeen Islam allegedly tortured her mercilessly over a trifle matter on June 16, leaving her injured critically.

The victim was rushed to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital and later transferred to a private clinic where she succumbed to her injuries at 11:00am.

The body was sent to DMCH morgue for autopsy.

However, police nabbed the accused Fardeen in this connection.

Officer-in-Charge of Rupnagar Thana Shikder M Shamim Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews.
