DHAKA: Bangladesh Petroleum Exploration Company (BAPEX) has discovered a new gas field at Purbachal Project of Rupganj in Narayanganj.

Managing Director of Bapex, Abdul Baqi confirmed about the 26th gas reservoir of the country on Saturday.

Around 50 billion cubic feet gas might be extracted from the field and the daily lifting amount would be 10-12 million cubic feet, he added.

Nasrul Hamid Bipu, State Minister for Power Division, visited the newly discovered gas field in the afternoon.
