MYMENSINGH: A woman allegedly committed suicide along with her four-year-old daughter by hanging from a tree with ropes in Mirka village under Bhaluka upazila of the district on Saturday.

The deceased were identified as Sheuli Akhtar, 35, wife of Jahangir Alam of the village and her four-year-old girl Suchi.

Sources of Bhaluka Model Thana police, quoting family sources, said the woman had had a family feud for long. She went out of her house with the kid without informing anyone on Friday night. In the morning of the following day, neighbors found them hanging from a tree with ropes.

On information, police recovered the bodies and sent them to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.

Officer-In-Charge of the thana Abul Kalam Azad told: “Sheuli’s father Gias Uddin filed an unnatural death case with the thana.”
