DHAKA: Due to strong monsoon over North Bay, deep convection is continuing over North Bay and adjoining coastal area of Bangladesh. 

Under its influence, squally weather may continue over North Bay, adjoining coastal area of Bangladesh and the maritime ports, says Met office.

Maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox’s bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisted local cautionary signal number three.

All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice.

According to river port warning messages, in association with rain of thunder showers temporary  south or south- easter’ly gusty or squally wind speed 45-60 kph is likely to occur  over the regions of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogra, Jessore, Kushtia, Faridpur, Dhaka, Tangail, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Comilla, Chittagong and Sylhet wherein river ports shall hoist cautionary  signal  number one.

Under the influence of heavy to very heavy rainfall landslide may occur at places over the hilly regions of Chittagong and Sylhet divisions.
