DHAKA: Five people of a family sustained burn injuries when a tin-shed house caught fire in Ibrahimpur area at Kafrul of the city on Monday early.

The injured are-- Joynal Abedin, 38, his wife Piara Begum, 35, his two sons – Robiul Islam, 12, and Rabbi, 7 – and his niece Khadiza 15.

Rofiqul Islam, son-in-law of house owner Ribiul Islam, told banglanews, “The house caught fire when the coil of the ceiling fan exploded at 4:00am, leaving them injured.”

All of the injured were admitted at the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, sources of local police said.
