DHAKA: International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 has fixed Tuesday for pronouncing verdict in war crimes case against Jamaat Ameer Motiur Rahman Nizami.
The 3-member tribunal comprising Justice Anwarul Haque, Jahangir Hossain and Justice M Enayetur Rahim fixed the date on Monday.
Earlier, on March 24, the same tribunal said the verdict will be delivered any day as the judgment procedure was concluded on that day.
On May 28, 2012, the tribunal indicted the Jamaat Ameer for his alleged involvement in crimes against humanity during the Liberation War in 1971.
On June 29, 2010, Nizami was arrested after a magistrate court in Dhaka issued arrest warrant in connection with a criminal case over hurting religious sentiment of Muslims.
Later on July 22, the tribunal shown him arrested in the war crimes case.
Nizami shifted to Central Jail
