Ex-MP Ansar Ahmed passes away

COMILLA: Former Comilla Sadar MP (Member of Parliament) Ansar Ahmedalso a braved freedom fighter, passed away at a city hospital on Tuesday.

He was 66.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, this Jatiya Party (JP) lawmaker’s elder son Anzam Ansar Raju said that his father breathed his last at Samorita Hospital in the capital around 6:00am.

Ansar, born at Mogoltoli in Comilla city in 1947, is survived by two sons and two daughters and a host of relatives and admirers to mourn his death.

His family sources said that Ansar had been undergoing treatment at the hospital after he suffered a brain stroke on Monday.

Ansar was elected from Comilla-6 constituency for several times.

He will be buried on Friday noon following his Namaz-e-Janaza after the arrival of his another son and daughters, who are now living in the United States of America.

Ansar’s elder son said that his siblings will arrive at the country by Thursday night.
