CHUADANGA: In a cinematic style, miscreants kidnapped a college girl from the residence after chopping her mother to death in Damurhuda upazila of the district on Thursday.

The deceased was Tahmina Khatun, 45, wife of Abdul Kader of Azimpur village of the upazila while the kidnapped girl was Josna Khatun, a third year student of Chuadanga Government College.

Witness said, “A gang of miscreants, numbering 10 to 12, stormed into the house with a white-colored microbus at 8:00pm Thursday to abduct Josna. At that time, her mother Tahmina tried to prevent the gang, and then the miscreants chopped the mom and cut the tendons of her legs, leaving Tahmina critically injured.”

The gang captured girl and left the house.

Tahmina succumbed to her injures on way to the district Sadar Hospital.

Damurhuda Model Thana Officer-In-Charge confirmed the matter to banglanews.

District assistant superintendent of police M Karuzzaman told banglanews, “Police began combing operation across the district to rescue the kidnapped girl and nab the kidnappers.”
