Budget to be passed sans oppose

FROM PARLIAMENT: The proposed budget for Fiscal Year 2014-15 is going to be passed with some amendments on Sunday without any oppose.

Opposition Jatiya Party is going to extend its full support to the budget which will be the first time example after the parliamentary democracy introduced. 

The budget session of the Jatiya Sangsad resumed at 10:08am Sunday with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.            

At first, the ministers have been joining general question-answer session over the proposed budget for fiscal year 2014-15.
The proposed budget of FY 2014-15 is Tk 250,506 crore which was 222,491 crore in FY 2013-14.
The new budget will be effective from July 1.                               

Earlier on Saturday, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina joined the discussion and proposed to impose surcharge in mobile phone which will be used in education sector. 

The session of the new parliament started on January 29 that ended on April 10.

The first budget session starts on June 3 that will prolong to July 3 and the new fiscal year’s budget is likely to be approved on June 29.

Jatiya Party, as part of the government and main opposition party, joined the parliament, from the first day of the maiden session.

For the first time, the opposition party is trying to raise their voice in the parliament leaving behind the tradition of boycotting the parliament.
