FROM PARLIAMENT: The proposed budget of FY 2014-15 is Tk 250,506 crore which was 222,491 crore in FY 2013-14 have been passed Sunday in the parliament without any oppose.    

Around 382.34 crore grants and allocations have also been passed for 52 ministries and departments.     

Finance division gets highest allocation Tk185.66 crore and lowest budget Tk1.45 Lakhs has been allocated for President’s office.   

Opposition Jatiya Party extended its full support to the budget which is the first time example after the parliamentary democracy introduced.  

The budget session of the Jatiya Sangsad resumed at 10:08am Sunday with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.            

At first, the ministers have joined general question-answer session over the proposed budget for fiscal year 2014-15.

The new budget will be effective from July 1.                               

The session of the new parliament started on January 29 that ended on April 10.     

Jatiya Party, as part of the government and main opposition party, joined the parliament, from the first day of the maiden session.

For the first time, the opposition party is trying to raise their voice in the parliament leaving behind the tradition of boycotting the parliament.
