JOYPURHAT: At least two people, including a minor, were killed and eight others injured in a road accident in Basher Bridge area under Kalai upazila of the district on Sunday afternoon.

Of the deceased, one was identified as Hridoy, 5.

Police sources said a shallow-engine-run human hauler locally known as Bhotbhoti plunged into a roadside ditch as its driver lost his control over the steering in the area around 4:30pm, leaving two people, including Hridoy dead on the spot and eight others injured critically.

The others injured were rushed to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital in Bogra.

Officer-in-Charge of Kalai Thana Ramjan Ali confirmed the matter to banglanews.
