ACC approves case against Khoka among 8

DHAKA: Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Sunday approved the filling of case against eight people, including formerly Dhaka City Corporation Mayor Sadek Hossain Khoka, over taking financial facilities though illegal shop allotment.

The approval came from an ACC meeting at its office in the city in the afternoon.

ACC chairman Badiuzzaman confirmed the matter to banglanews in the night of the day.

He said, “The ACC investigation has found involvement of the people concerned to the allegation and the case will be filed soon.”

The seven others are former DCC chief estate officer Moshiar Rahman, estate officer Mohsin Uddin Morol, retired estate officer Sahabuddin Sabu, Dhaka South City Corporation estate officer Mohammad Ali, surveyor Muhammad Bacchu Mia, Faruk Hossain, and Motaleb Hossain.  

According to ACC investigation, Khoka and seven others emblazed money by providing temporary allotment of some 493 shops at a market in Banglabazar and Dhaka Trade Center in Gulistan area of the city bypassing rules.
