RANGAMATI: Two persons, including Kotwali Thana Officer-in-Charge were injured as Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) Commissioner’s motorcade was attacked by Bangalee settlers.
The injured are Monu Sohel Imtiaz, Officer-in-Charge Kotwali Thana and former leader of Women Federation also Hill track Commission Research Officer Elira Dewan.
Sources said Bangalee settlers, who have been protesting the visit of the commission members in Rangamati started to throw brick chips aiming the motorcade around 10:30am, leaving them injured.
Later, police opened two rounds blank fire and brought the situation under control.
A competent source of Kotwali Thana confirmed the matter to banglanews.
Earlier around 10:00am, the settlers put barricade on the main road leading Rangamati town by putting logs when they came to know about the arrival of the commission members in the district, reports banglanews Rangamati correspondent.
