KISHOREGANJ: The rail communications between Dhaka and Chittagong resumed after five hours halt as two containers of a port city-bound cargo train derailed near Bhairab Rail Station of the district on Tuesday.
The container train left Bhairab for Chittagong around 6:10pm after the completion of the salvage work.
Confirming the matter, Bhairab Station Master Khalilur Rahman said, “A rescue train from Akhaura conducted the salvage work.”
Earlier, the communications in six districts, including Chittagong, Sylhet, Hobiganj, Kishoreganj, Mymensingh and Brahmanbaria remained stopped due to the derailment.
