DINAJPUR: Three persons were electrocuted and two others were injured following an incident at Kismat Madhabpur village under Sadar upazila of the district on Thursday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Sabbir Hossain Shuvo, 18, son of Mojibar Rahman, Mosaddeq Hossain, 40, son of Mozammel Hossain and Sadequl Islam, 22, son of Mafizul Islam, residents of the area.

Locals said that Sabbir Hossain Shuvo was handling a switched-on motor for irrigation and electrocuted as he came in touch with a nude live electric wire in the area around 4:00pm.

At one stage, in a bid to save Shuvo, both Mosaddeq and Sadequl got electrocuted, they added.

Two others were injured in the incident and rushed to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital.
