BANDARBAN: A tense situation is prevailing at Naikkhangchari frontier of the district following hearing the sound of gunfire near Bangladesh-Myanmar Border in phases on Friday.
But, Myanmar Border Guard Police (BGP) said that their training session is going on there.
Locals told banglanews that they have been hearing the sound of shooting since early morning.
The firing sound might comes from near international border piller 59-50 of that area, they added.
Confirming the matter, Naikkhangchari BGB-31 Battalion Commander Shafiqul Islam said that, though the BGP members are taking their training along border, but the BGB remained alert there.
Earlier on May 28, a Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) man was died there on May 28 by Myanmar Border Guard Police (BGP).
