SYLHET: A Swechhasebak League activist was killed in dispute over establishing supremacy in Madina market area of the district town on Monday night.

The deceased was identified as Abdullah Haque Kochi, 20, son of Sanju Mia.

Witnesses said that the activists of Juba League man Guljar Ahmed attacked Swechhasebak League man Imran group’s activists Kochi and Sani, leaving them injured. 

Later, they were rushed to Osmani Medical College Hospital where duty doctor declared Kochi dead.

Confirming the matter Jalalabad Thana Officer-in-Charge Gausul Hossain told banglanews, “Past enmity was the main cause of the incident.”

No one was held in this connection, he added.
