DHAKA: Communications Minister Obaidul Quader has dismissed a Roads and Highway Department (RHD) engineer temporarily for his negligence on duty at Ashulia-Bipail highway repairing works ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.
The minister suspended engineer Ashsan Ullah on Thursday morning while he was visiting the under repairing road and gave the job to RHD Manikganj executive engineer M Sabuz as extra duty.
Obaidul directed the new engineer to repair the road before the Eid by installing water pumps.
Later, the minister visited Ashulia-Jamgarh road and ordered authorities concerned to take immediate steps for speedy repair.
