KURIGRAM: Border Security Force (BSF) of India abducted three Bangladeshi women, including mother and daughter, while returning to the country from India from Khalishakotal border area of Fulbari upazila of the district early Thursday.
The abducted are Hazera Begum, 45, her daughter Manju Khatun, 25 and 1.5-year old granddaughter Afsana.
Sources said BSF held them from the Sub-Pillar 9S of International Border Pillar No-934.
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and BSF commanders met a flag meeting in this regard where BSF informed that the nabbed three were handed over to Dinhata Thana of India.
BGB-45 Battalion Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Mofazzal Hossain Akand told banglanews that Manju Khatun, daughter of Mosleh Uddin, resident of Fulbari upazila, got married to Atarul Islam of Dhapra village of India three years ago.
BSF held them while Hazera was bringing her daughter Manju and granddaughter Afsana, who are Indian citizens, on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, he added.
