BARISAL: Two minor girls drowned in a pond in Lamchari area of Charbaria under Sadar upazila of the district on Thursday noon.

The deceased were identified as Mim, 5, daughter of Mazibar Chaprashi and Eti, 7, daughter of Sukkur Mia.

Family sources said that the victims were playing near a pond adjacent to their house around 12:30pm and went missing.

After searching, the victims were recovered and sent to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College and Hospital where on duty doctors declared them dead.
