DHAKA: State Minister for Home Affairs Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Thursday categorically said that the government has no such plan of separating Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) from regular police force.

Addressing the journalists, he also said, we have not taken any such decision.

Police Wing of the Ministry has sent a proposal, which is their thought, about reforming the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), he added.

In response to a quest, minister said, there can be no question of sending the proposal of separating RAB from police to the Prime Minister.

Senior Awami League leader Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal also said, “We have to think a lot about the issue. However, we want to make RAB as stronger and more efficient force.”

He also said they did not form any committee regarding RAB’s reform and proposal was just a proposal.

However, minister failed to answer how such a proposal was made without his cognizance and how a secretary can sign it.
