Govt steps focused at Girl Summit

DHAKA: Prime Minster Sheikh Hasina on Saturday revealed that different measures of the government have been presented before the participants at the first-ever World Girl Summit in London.

The premier made the disclosure at a press conference on her three-day official visit to London at Gana bhaban in the city around 11:30am on the day.

At the press brief, Hasina spoke about her diplomatic successes during the visit and the prevailing political situations of the country and prayed for the departed soul of her bosom friend, journalists, also woman leader Baby Moudud, who passed away on Saturday.

She said, “The British government talked about to continue its aids and assistances with Bangladesh and praised the steps of Bangladesh government to remove the fundamentalism and militancy.”

Hasina went to London on July 21 to attend the Girl Summit as at the special invitation of the British Premier David Cameron. She also met several UK leaders there.
