BAGERHAT: Two schoolboys were killed as lightning struck them in Sadar upazila of the district on Saturday.

The deceased were identified as Hridoy, 10, son of Humayun Gazi of Nagerdema village under Dema union of the upazila, also a student of class four in Nagerdema Government Primary School and Aiyub, 15, son of Matlub, living in the same area, also a student of class-X in Dema High School.

Witness said lightning struck them at Panachamala Bil of the area while rearing cows in the noon, leaving them injured critically.

Later, they succumbed to their injuries while locals were taking them to hospital.

Bagerhat Sadar Hospital doctor Mashiur Rahman confirmed the matter.
