19 killed on Eid morning

DHAKA: At least 19 people were killed and 37 others injured in separate road accidents in four districts on Tuesday morning.

Of the deceased, seven in Noakhali, four in Narayaganj, five in Faridpur and three were in Bhola.

Noakhali: At least seven people were killed and 25 others injured as a Chittagong-bound passenger bus plunged into a roadside ditch in Joyag Bazar area of Sonaimuri upazila of the district around 3:45am.

Officer-in-Charge of Sonaimuri Thana Abdus Samad confirmed the matter to banglanews. The injured were sent to various local hospitals, he added.

Bhola: At least three people were killed and 10 others injured as a bus plunged into a roadside ditch on Bhola-Charfashion highway in Kartarhat area of Charfashion upazila of the district around 6:45am.

Officer-in-Charge of Charfashion Thana Abul Bashar confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Narayanganj: Four people were killed and 2 others injured as a private car plunger into a roadside ditch on Dhaka-Narayanganj link road in Jalpuri area of Siddhirganj upazila of the district.

The deceased were identified as Sumon, Pintu, Salam and Abdullah.

Officer-in-Charge of Siddhirganj Thana Alauddin confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Faridpur: At least five people were killed in two different road accidents in Bhanga upazila of the district on Tuesday morning.

The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Of them, four were killed as a microbus turned turtle in Maligram area of the upazila around 9:00am.

Meanwhile, another person was killed in Chumurdia area of the same upazila.

Officer-in-Charge of Bhanga Thana Nazmul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
