COMILLA: A sergeant of Bangladesh police along with his wife and daughter was killed and two others were injured in a road accident at Chauddagram upazila on Thursday morning.

The deceased were identified as Nazrul Islam Belal, 50, wife Laboni, 30 and their baby daughter Tabassum, 3, hailed from Chhagalnaiya upazila of Feni district.

Chauddagram Thana Sub-Inspector Monir Hossain told banglanews Nazrul along with his family members were returning his work station in Brahmanbaria after celebrating Eid at village home in Feni.  

On the way to Brahmanbaria, the private car carrying the victims, hit a bridge on Dhaka-Chittagong highway as its driver lost control over the steering around 7:30am, leaving a police officer, his daughter dead on the spot and injured two other.

The injured were sent to Chauddagram and Feni Sadar Hospitals. Their condition is critical. 

Later, Laboni succumbed to her injuries at Comilla Medical College Hospital around 10:45am.
