DHAKA: Gas supply may be disrupted temporarily in several areas of Dhaka city, Narsingdi district, Madhabdi and Laxmankhola from 8:00am to 6:00pm due to repairing works of gas pipeline, said sources concerned.
Transmission line will remain closed during repairing works and the gas pressure will be low in the area; several areas of the city would have no gas supply on the noon, the sources added.
Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited manager (public relation) Shahajan Mian told banglanews, “An illegal gas line has been set up in the 14-inch diameter gas transmission line in Amirganj Rail Station in Raipura upazila of Narsingdi, which posses a high risk.”
“The illegal gas line will be removed on Saturday keeping the gas supply closed,” he added.
Narsgindi district administration took decision to remove the illegal gas line as the high power gas line supplies a thousand psi (pounds per square inch) and big accident may take place anytime there.
“Gas demand remains low in the city during Eid; so, no trouble may appear but the warning has been issued as people remain prepared mentally,” said Shahajan.
