BOGRA: A retired civil surgeon of Bogra was crushed under the wheels of train at Shantahar Railway Station at Adamdighi upazila of the district on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Dr ATM Shajahan Ali, 65, hailed from Bangabaria area of Naogaon district.

Locals said Shajahan went on retirement after serving as Bogra civil surgeon.

Shantahar Government Railway Police (GRP) Thana Sub-Inspector (SI) Abdul Hannan said a freight train ran over Shahjahan while crossing the rail line around 9:45am.

Police sent the body to Naogaon Sadar Hospital morgue, he added.

However, witnesses said he might have committed suicide centering family feud.
