Personnel from Fire Service, Coast Guard, Navy, Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) and Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) have been working in 50skm area in Mawa Ghat and Kawrakandi areas on river Padma.

Earlier, Navy Captain Nazrul Islam at a press conference at Mawa Speed Boat Ghat told media at 9:20pm on Thursday that they are using the latest technology in Bangladesh’s history in recovering the capsized launch.

A rescue ship called Jarip-10 is expected to reach the spot Friday morning, he added.

According to him, they are getting little sign of the capsized launch due to heavy current in the river.

BIWTA has charged six people including the owner of the passenger ferry for causing death by negligence.
