DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday said the strength and sacrifice of her mother are the lessons for her political life.

Hasina said, “I learned much from my heavenly mother and had got much more love and affection, which I did not even get from my father.”

“Since my birth, I got less affection of my father but I had full of my mother’s affection,” she added.

Hasina came up with the remarks while addressing a function on the occasion of 84th birth anniversary of her mother ‘Bangamata’ Begum Fazilatunnesa Mujib, wife of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the city on the morning.

Earlier, Awami League and its associate bodies paid rich tributes to Fazilatunnesa placing floral wreath at her grave at Banani in the city at 8:30am on the day followed by holding a milad and doa mahfil at Banani Graveyard Mosque for her eternal salvation.
