HABIGANJ: Road crashes killed here two persons in Lakhai and Nabiganj on Friday.

The deceased were identified as Dewan Ali, 30, son of Maram Ali, residing in Murakari village of Lakhai upazila and Shahidul Islam, 60, living in Puran Gaon village of Nabiganj upazila.

Locals told banglanews that they were killed in two different accidents on Lakhai-Habiganj-Nabiganj road in the morning.

Witnesses said that a bus around 8am knocked a CNG-driven auto-rickshaw down in Karab area on Lakhai-Habiganj road, leaving three wounded critically.

Later, one of them, Dewan Ali succumbed to his injuries after taking to the Habiganj Sadar Hospital.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Lakhai Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ali Farid said that police seized the bus while its driver managed to flee the spot.

Earlier, Shahidul Islam, a night guard, was killed at Shibpur Bazar in Nabiganj around 4am when a rashly driven truck knocked him from behind on its way to Nabiganj from Habiganj.

Later, police recovered the deceased’s body in the morning.
