PM asks to serve country’s people

DHAKA: Prime Minster Sheikh Hasina, also ruling Awami League president, on Sunday asked the employees of the state to serve the people of the country.

The premier came up with the plea while addressing the concluding ceremony of the 56th fundamentals course of the Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre.

The PM said, “Our aim is to serve the nation and welfare of them. Being the employees of the state, you should work as servants of the people.” 

She also added: “You should remember that your salaries and bonuses come from the taxes paid by the people. So, you should work for them.”

Indicating the participants of the course, she also said “You should improve your abilities to face new challenges.”

She also asked the officials to be prepared them accordingly, she added.

The premier said if they work properly, people of the upcoming generations will be benefited.

She also said duration of the course would be extended to six months from four months to enhance the quality of the course.

Finance Minister AMA Muhith, State Minister for Public Administration Ministry Ismat Ara Sadeq and Public Administration Ministry Senior Secretary Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury were among others present at the function.
