DHAKA: Social Welfare Minister Syed Mohsin Ali has regretted said sorry for demeaning remarks to journalists at a meeting in Sylhet.
On Saturday, at a discussion meeting he told journalists are “dirty chaps and of bad character”. He further insulted journalists in many ways through his statement.
However, the minister said the speeches were for some particular journalists who insulted him and his other party leaders.
The journalist community asked him to seek apology publicly for his statement.
Moreover, they gave an ultimatum for his removal and arrest within 48-hour for his obscene and unsavory statement against journalists.
He said in his reaction that the statement was not for every journalist rather it was for some local journalists who were always after him.
He also said that “journalism is a great profession.” “Even the journalists are honest and brave,” he added.
The minister said that a group of local journalists were ridiculing to me and my party’s top leaders. “So that I could not control my temper and blasted in the meeting,” he added.
He felt sorry for the unwanted situation and urged everyone to not to misunderstand him on that particular issue.
