DHAKA: Prof Dr Muzaffer Ahmad and Dr Swadesh Ranjan Bose have been selected for the Bangladesh Bank Award this year.
Each of them will be given a gold medal, Tk 1 lakh and a Bangladesh Bank crest under this award.
Bangladesh Bank has decided to confer the ‘Bangladesh Bank Award-2013′ to them for their distinctive and remarkable contributions to the field of development economics, a press release said on the Central Bank’s website on Monday.
Bangladesh Bank governor with his 5-member jury board nominated them, the reales added.
Earlier, Bangladesh Bank Award was conferred on Prof Rehman Sobhan in 2000, Dr Nurul Islam in 2009 and Prof Dr Mosharaff Hossain in 2011.
However, both Prof Dr Muzaffer Ahmad and Dr Swadesh Ranjan Bose (posthumous) will jointly be awarded through a ceremony scheduled to be held at AKN Ahmed Auditorium, Bangladesh Bank Training Academy, Mirpur-2 on August 20.
Finance Minster AMA Muhith will be present at the ceremony as the chief guest.
