RMG workers unrest at Ashulia

ASHULIA, DHAKA: The workers of a readymade garments factory named ‘Yagi Bangladesh’ went on strike, protesting sacking in Beron area of Ashulia in city on Monday.

Sources said the workers of the garments went to the factory as usual but on Monday morning, seeing the sacking notice of 20 workers, they became agitated with them and staged protest procession. 

Following the incident, leaving work all the workers of the factory went on strike in the factory. 

The workers complained showing many excuse, the factory authorities sacked workers without any notice.

Ashulia Industrial Police-1 director Mostafizur Rahman told banglanews: "The workers were staging a peaceful strike against factory the authority for sacking 20 workers.”

Additional police forces were deployed in the area to avoid any untoward situation, he added.
