Fake RAB man issues death threat to journo

SAVAR, DHAKA: A person, introducing himself as Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) man, issued dearth threat to Abdul Halim, the Savar correspondent of Boisakhi TV, on Wednesday.

Journalist Abdul Halim filed a general diary (GD) with Sadar Model Thana in this connection.

He said, “An unknown man introducing himself as CEO Colonel Ziaur Rahman of Uttara Headquarters of RAB-1, called at the reception of Rose Clinic and Diagnostic Centre, owned by him, and took his personal mobile phone number on August 10.”

On the next day, that he called on his mobile phone and wanted to talk on some personal matter, Halim added.

Halim further said, “I requested him to talk face-to-face as I was not familiar with that person. Later, the person called me around 11:00am on Wednesday and threatened to kill me by bombing.”

That man also said he has got a contract “to kill me”, he added.

Officer-in-Charge of Savar Model Thana Mustafa Kamal told banglanews that they have been trying to identify that person.

“We also are watching over the number,” OC added.
