Dr Momen tenure in UN extended

DHAKA: The government has extended the period of Dr AK Abdul Momen, Bangladesh Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations, for one year.

Public Administration Ministry issued a press release in this regard on Wednesday afternoon.

It said the contract with Dr Momen has been extended for another year and it will be implemented from August 11.

In another order, Officer on Special Duty (deputy secretary) Bijon Kanti Sarker of Public Administration Ministry was sent to forced retirement.

Bijon Kanti Sarker was the personal secretary of the then Housing and Public Works Minister Mirza Abbas.

Besides, Brigadier General Sheikh Muhammad Rizwan Ali and Lieutenant Colonel Molla M Zubair were brought on deputation as Dean to Bangladesh University of Professional (BUP) and Director of Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) respectively.
