Illegal gas connection won’t be legalized

DHAKA: Petrobangla Chairman Dr Hossain Mansur categorically said the illegal gas connections would not be legalized if there have pressure to do that.

He made the declaration while addressing a training workshop titled “Fire Extinguish and First Aid”  organized by GTDCL and Fire Service and Civil Defense in city’s Titas Gas building on Monday.

Dr Mansur said through mismanagement, the low-standard pipes have been installed in gas supply line around the country.

The Petrobangla chairman alarmed that such activities would bring massive accident at any time and for that Titas would not be responsible.

During rescue operation and attempt to douse fire, numbers of employees of Titas group have been killed. They are not awarded for that but Titas are blamed for stealing and looting, he added.

Dr Mansur urged all to give commendation for good deeds which would encourage them.

He also urged to introduce the fire training in other companies.

Managing Director Engineer Nawshad Islam of Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited (TGTDCL) presided over the program.
