BARISAL: Miscreants chopped the general secretary of Barisal Press Club, also bureau chief of Dainik Samakal Pulak Chatterjee in the town early Tuesday. 

Police nabbed a person in this connection and recovered an abandoned local weapon from in front of Barisal College.

Pulak Chatterjee has been admitted to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College and Hospital.

Quoting Pulak, a few people said miscreants attacked and chopped him indiscriminately in front of Barisal College while returning from the office around 2:00am, leaving him severely injured.

Officer-in-Charge of Barisal Kotwali Thana Shakhawat told banglanews that they have nabbed one suspect to probe.
