DHAKA: The surgery of Language Movement activist Abdul Matin, widely honored as ‘Bhasha Matin’, has been successful.
Doctors, after completing the surgery in his head, told banglanews that the 88-year old language veteran is now out of danger.
Matin has been admitted at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Medical University (BSMMU) in the city.
Dr Afzal, who had conducted the surgery of Bhasha Matin, said that he suffered from brain hemorrhage. He has been taken to operation theatre around 11:15am and the surgery was completed by 12:30pm,’ he added.
However, the doctor further informed media that Matin is now in the BSMMU Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
According to the doctor, the language hero might be staying at the ICU on the day.
Abdul Matin, who was first admitted to the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases following a stroke, had been shifted to the BSMMU on Tuesday morning.
A medical board led by BSMMU neurosurgery head Dr Abdullah is observing his condition.
