MUNSHIGANJ: Communications Minister Obaidul Quader categorically said that the main part of much-talked-about Padma Bridge is being constructed as per blueprints of World Bank.
“We have not initiated a bit of change to it,” he added.
The minister disclosed the matter to the journalists at Mawa Rest House in the district.
Obaidul Quader also said, “The construction of the bridge will be self financed and it will follow the plan of World Bank. A 30-delegation including the chief engineer of China Major Bridge Engineering Company (MBEC) Ltd has arrived here at Mawa and started their work.”
“The contractor company has been constructing some infrastructural works in China. Those parts of the bridge will be brought in Bangladesh as finished product and will be established here directly,” AL leader added.
Minister further said, “Final order for river management tasks will be given within August. River management tasks and construction of bridge will go hand in hand.”
Later, he visited the Padma Bridge construction site.
