NARAYANGANJ: At least 15 people were injured in a clash between police and workers in a factory in Madanpur area under Bandar Upazila of the district on Saturday.

Sources said that workers of Partex Group staged demonstration demanding to salary hike. At one stage, the workers blocked Dhaka-Chittagong highway around 7:30am that halted traffic movement for one and half hours.

Later, police tried to remove the workers from highway that triggered a clash, leaving 15 people injured.

Confirming the matter, Bandar Thana Officer-in-Charge Aktar Morshed said that police remove the blockade and the vehicle movement became normal from 9:00am.
