VK Singh arrives

DHAKA: General (retd) Vijay Kumar Singh, State Minister for External Affairs and Minister of State (independent charge) for North East Region of India, arrived here on Saturday to join in a business conclave.

Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pankaj Saran received VK Singh at Shahjalal International Airport in the afternoon.

India-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IBCCI) CEO Zahangir Bin Alam confirmed the matter to banglanews.

India Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Kolkata and India-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IBCCI) with the help of Indian High Commission have organized the conclave titled ‘A New Phase in Bilateral Economic Relations’.

The conclave will witness participation of senior policy makers and business representatives, and provide a platform for further enhancing trade, commerce and investment between India and Bangladesh.

General (retd) VK Singh’s visit follows the visit of India’s External Affairs Minister Smt. Sushma Swaraj in June 2014.

In addition to General (retd) VK Singh, the Chief Minister of Meghalaya Dr Mukul Sangma and Tapan Chakraborty, Commerce and Industry Minister of Tripura are also expected to attend the conclave.
