DHAKA: Dhaka Metropolitan Police Detective Branch (DB) detained 11 persons with Uranium worth Tk 50 crore from capital’s Banani area Sunday.
Deputy Commissioner (South) Krisnapodo Roy made the disclosure at a press briefing at DMP Media Center.
Krisnapodo Roy said “We are not sure yet whether it is Uranium or not. It can be said after testing. We seized 2 pound Uranium, a radiation proof jacket, hand gloves and radiation machines.”
He also added, “The detainees admitted in primary interrogation that the Uranium-like thing reached to them six months ago. They showed video of it to the interested buyers.”
Uranium is being used in nuclear plant and to make nuclear bomb.
