DHAKA: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed case against eight people, including former mayor of the then Dhaka City Corporation (DCC) Sadeque Hossain Khoka, for irregularities in shop allotment.
ACC Assistant Director M Mahbubul Alam filed the case with Shahbagh Thana on Sunday afternoon.
Mahbubul Alam said they filed the case against them after they were found guilt in primary investigation.
ACC sources said the accused took financial benefits establishing 493 illegal shops at Bangabazar, Dhaka Trade Centre car parking and open premises of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).
The seven accused are former chief land officer of DSCC Mashiar Rahman, former land officer Mahsin Uddin Morol, retired land officer Shahabuddin Shabu, land department public surveyor Mohammad Ali, surveyor Muhammad Bachchu Mia, Faruk Hossain and Motaleb Hossain.
