DHAKA: The Airport Armed Police personnel detained a man along with gold bars worth Tk 45 lakh at Shahjalal International Airport in the capital on Sunday.

The detainee is Abdur Razzak, son of late Amir Mollah of Alamnagar village in Char Bhadrashan upazila of Faridpur district.

Police sources said two people carrying the gold bars came from Riyadh around 3:30pm and handed over the bars to Razzak.

Later, the law enforcers nabbed him along with the gold bars from car parking area around 5:10pm.

However, the gold bars were kept under customs authorities.

A case was filed in this connection.
