NARAYANGANJ: A Narayanganj court awarded death penalty to six people and life-time imprisonment to another in a murder case in the district.

Narayanganj Additional District and Session Judge Court Justice Mamunur Rashid passed the order in a crowded court on Monday morning.

The convicts are- Sawpon, Nazmul, Masum,Aminul Islam, Sazzad Alam Dolar Jakir Hossain and Sadia.

Among the convicts, Sawpon, Aminul Islam, Jakir Hossain and Sadia were at large and other were present in court.

District Court Public Prosecutor Abdur Rahim said that on June 2, 2009, the convicts called the victim Rafiq Bhuiyan following previous enmity. Later, the body of the victim was found in a water body.

Later, victim’s brother filed a murder case mentioning name of seven people.
