DHAKA: The newly appointed David Meale has joined the US Embassy in Dhaka as its new Deputy Chief of Mission. 

The US embassy, in a press release, confirmed the matter.

Meale was previously the Counselor for Economic Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv, Ukraine. 

With over 20 years in the US Foreign Service, he has also served as Deputy Director of the Office of Monetary Affairs in the Economic Bureau and held assignments in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Guinea, on the Israel Desk in Washington.

Meale was a student at the US National Defense University.

Jon Danilowicz was the previous Deputy Chief of Mission of the US embassy in Dhaka.
