RANGAMATI: Rangamati Bus Owners Association and Bus Sramik Union on Tuesday called bus strike for Wednesday demanding penalty of attackers during clash between transport workers and local shopkeepers at old bus stand area.

Bus Owners Association president Moinuddin Selim confirmed the matter to banglanews Tuesday. 

He said that the strike would be stricter if the attackers are not held.

Earlier on Monday night, following a personal matter some transport workers locked into clash with shopkeepers in old bus stand area of the district town, leaving five transport workers injured. 

Later, the injured were sent to Rangamati Sadar Hospital and critically injured two were shifted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital. 

Confirming the matter, Katwali Thana Duty Officer Sub-Inspector Hasan told banglanews that police detained a man in this connection.
