JESSORE: Angry mob lynched a snatcher and injured another one in Nazir Shankarpur passport office area of Kotwali Thana in the district on Wednesday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Suman Mollah, 20, son of Rabiul Mollah in Bezpara area of the district.

Officer-in-Charge of Kotwali Model Thana Inamul Haque said to banglanews that Suman was chased by the locals when he attempted to snatch from a man in the area. 

After catching him, the agitated mob beat them indiscriminately, leaving Sumon and his cohort Tapu Benarjyee critically injured.

Later, Sumon succumbed to his injuries around 5:00pm and the body was sent to the Jessore Medical College and Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Injured Tapu was taken to the police station.

Though, Sumon’s sister Sharifa Khatun demanded that her brother was not snatcher.
